Poland counts 12,5 million households, of which a little under two thirds live in urban zones. 25 % of couples do not have children, this urban tendency is beginning to extend in the rural zones.

The average population density amounts to 125 persons/km².

With a GDP per capita in power purchasing parity of 15000 per capita, Poland lag behind the Czechs, the Poles and the Hungarians. This amount represents approximately 50 % of the average in the European Union, but it has increased considerably in the last fifteen years.

The average wages is about 800 euros net (double in Warsaw), but there are sometimes other sources of incomes, which are undeclared.
