Czestochowa is located in the south of Poland, on the Warta River. It is one of the main pilgrimage sites in the world. About 4 million people visit the city yearly. Aleja Najswietszej Marii Panny (St. Mary's Avenue) - is the busiest and most representative street in the city. Jasna Gora (Bright Mountain)towers above it with the 14th century klasztor oo. Paulinow (Pauline Monestary) and the Bazylika Krzyza Swietego i Wniebowziecia NMP - (Basilica) with the Chapel of the Blessed Mary, where the magnificent paining of the Black Madonna is housed. You may also want to visit the Skarbiec (Treasury) and the Arsenal as well as the Muzeum 600-lecia (museum) and go up 519 steps to the top of the tower, where you will have a panoramic view of the monastery, city, and the surroundings.

Additional places of interest are the: Kosciol ss. Andrzeja i Barbary (Church of St. Andrew and the Church of St. Barbara) from the 17th century with a tiny spring, as well as Kosciol sw. Jakuba (St. James' Church).
